Training is a considerable part of TOSHA services, and has equal focus along with auditing and consultancy to implement effective industrial management systems.
In 1994, TOSHA registered as a Private Training Establishment (PTE) with the NZ Qualifications Authority (NZQA). TOSHA has the largest industry related unit standard accreditations of any New Zealand PTE and this has arisen through client demand, the spread of industry sectors, and due to the knowledge, skills and workplace experience of our trainers.
TOSHA works with, and its trainers are accredited with 22 Industry Training Organisations (ITOs) and/or Standard Setting Bodies as workplace assessors. Other reasons for becoming an NZQA accredited training provider are as follows:
So training would carry a qualification that was nationally recognised
So clients could access training subsidies if Training Agreements were in place with their ITO
So TOSHA could register NZQA credit achievements directly if no training subsidies were being sought
So clients had access to unit standard training knowing what levels of competency could be expected
Non-unit standard training can also be delivered.
All training irrespective of standards involved, is client specific. Unit Standards are only the "bones", it is the client and workplace specifics that ensure effective and sustainable training. For this reason TOSHA delivers very few generic public courses.
Approved Instructors/Examiners
Appropriate trainers are also registered/approved Instructors and Examiners with the Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA),OSH services, and the AA. ^ Top
